There is an ancient Chinese quote that goes "The Dao which can be named is not the true Dao" which is about how (in Daoist/Chinese believe/philosophy) the Dao is an universal concept that is impossible to truly define. "Dao" can be translated as "way". So I think what might have happened here is that they either 80s google translated the quote or used a really bad, nonsensical translation of the quote and didn't think about whether or not it made sense and just wanted a Confucius quote in there because you got to have one when the plot of your movie is even remotely losely inspired/based on/contains elements of Chinese history/mythology, I guess. The next problem is that that quote is by Laozi and not by Confucius.
